Yael Deckelbaum – The Voice of a Global Movement Music between worlds and emotions

Award-winning Israeli-Canadian singer, songwriter and passionate peace activist Yael Deckelbaum is coming to Zurich on 28 February 2024 as part of her Surrender Tour. She is thrilling fans worldwide with her new album ‘Surrender’, released in 2024. This work is a musical revelation, with which Yael strikes a softer, introspective tone. After her powerful anthems for peace and social justice, she is now showing a different side: a personal journey through love, loss and the search for inner balance. ‘Surrender’ is an intimate album that captivates with sensitive melodies, acoustic arrangements and profound lyrics. It leaves room for vulnerability and invites listeners to immerse themselves in the emotional world of Yael.

The focus is not on the big social issues, but on individual experience, quiet reflection and the strength that lies in devotion. She is now returning to the roots of her creativity: an intimate, soulful expression of self-reflection and love. A deep musical journey characterised by acoustic arrangements, sensitive lyrics and a warm, personal touch. The album invites listeners to pause and engage with life’s quiet but powerful moments.

Yael gained international recognition through her viral hit ‘Prayer of the Mothers’, the anthem of the ‘March of Hope’, initiated by the Women Wage Peace movement. Her music unites cultures and generations and inspires people worldwide to stand up for social justice. The first ‘European Surrender Album’ tour was an international success with completely sold-out concerts. With ‘Surrender’, Yael deliberately takes a step back into the personal to concentrate on the essence of her art – and thus touches her fans in a new, deeper way.

Meera Eliabouni already accompanied Yael Deckelbaum on her first Surrender Tour and will be at her side again in 2025 to bring the magic of this special musical journey on stage together with her. Meera Eliabouni is a versatile Palestinian artist from Israel who builds bridges between cultures and hearts through her music, her words and her presence. As a queer, multi-instrumental performer and singer, she advocates for peace, unity, and the power of shared expression. Her musical journey began in the small village of Eilaboun, and today she inspires people worldwide with her moving blend of blues, rock, reggae, and new age sounds. In addition to her own artistic work, Meera is a close musical companion of Yael Deckelbaum and accompanies her on the Surrender Tour. In their concerts together, Meera’s impressive voice and empathic nature create a space in which listeners experience not only music but also healing, transformation and hope.

With her unique ability to combine both socially relevant topics and personal stories in her music, Yael Deckelbaum remains one of the most inspiring voices of our time.

On 1 March 2024, Yael also invites you to a Voice Ceremony Workshop that focuses on the healing and liberating power of your own voice. This workshop offers a rare opportunity to rediscover your own voice and overcome inner barriers through breathing techniques, singing together and ceremonies.
