YAIMA

The Yaima Music Project is a Cascadian folktronic duo based in Seattle, WA.

Featuring multi-instrumentalist & producer Masaru Higasa and vocalist Pepper Proud, YAIMA has often been described as timeless and unmistakable, offering a balanced synergy of both masculine and feminine expression. Their melodious soundscapes showcase instruments from all over the world.

Inspired by the majesty of nature, their music envelops the listener with driving and revitalizing organic rhythms, transcendent electronic production, warm and soothing vocals, and heartfelt lyricism.

Their intention is to create a bridge between nature and humankind — an expansive experience that encourages growth and a graceful passage for the hearts and minds of their listeners.

Over the past five years, YAIMA’s music has reached the ears and hearts of listeners around the world.

The name YAIMA emerges from two sources one from the Mapudungun language meaning “that which water runs through” and the other from the culturally preserved Yaeyama District of Okinawa Japan.

Over the last 5 years YAIMAs music has been reaching the ears and hearts of listeners from all around the world.

After a deeply touching concert in Zürich in 2025, YAIMA are returning — bringing their unique sonic journey back to Zürich on October 10, 2026.

This evening will be more than a concert — it is a ceremonial experience.

We begin at 20:00 with a cacao ceremony, opening the space together in presence and connection, gently transitioning into the concert. The cacao ceremony is included in the concert ticket price.
