A May Day Ceremony of Song, Ritual, and Prayer

The beginning of May has long been a time to celebrate the Earth in her blossoming. A time of flowers, fertility, dancing and the exuberant force of life in all its abundance. Across generations, people have gathered at this turning of the seasons to honour the living Earth and celebrate the wonder of being alive.

And yet, there is so much happening in the world right now. Some days it’s hard to stay rooted and steady, to keep our hearts open when there is so much asking us to close them.

This is an invitation to pause and meet this moment. To come back to the Earth, to our own bodies and hearts, to one another, and to the things that give us life. To remember that we belong to this great, living web. To feel, to listen, to grieve, to breathe, to sing, to dance and to pray. And to make room for the beauty and wonder of being alive.

In these times, we need spaces to come together, to remember what matters, and to find our place within the greater web of life.

Song sits at the heart of this gathering. Through song, we can find our way back to ourselves, to each other, and to our deep belonging to this living Earth.

Together, we will sing, drum and pray. There will be ritual, journalling and stillness, with space to listen inwardly and feel what is here. We will make a small offering together, a prayer for ourselves, for the Earth and for the world we are part of.

A three-hour gathering to open our hearts to the beauty and vitality of life, nourish the things we want to see grow in ourselves and in the world, and remember that we belong to one another and to this living Earth.
